The most important places of pilgrimage in Buddhism are located in the Gangetic plains of Northern India and Southern Nepal, in the area between New Delhi and Rajgir. This is the area where Gautama Buddha lived and taught, and the main sites connected to his life are now important places of pilgrimage for both Buddhists and Hindus. However, many countries that are or were predominantly Buddhist have shrines and places which can be visited as a pilgrimage.
Day 01: Delhi
Arrive Delhi, Assistance & transfer To city Hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
After Breakfast Delhi, Sightseeing (Old & New Delhi)
Old Delhi: Jamia Mosque, Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Chandini Chowk, Shanti Vana, Shakti Sthal.
New Delhi: President/Parliament House, India Gate, Laxminarayan Temple, Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple (Bhai Temple), Qutab Tower & Museums. Evening transfer to Railway Station To board overnight train to Varanasi.
Day 03: Varanasi
Arrive Varanasi, assistance & transfer to Hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Temples & Ghats, Benares Hindu University, Sarnath, Ramnagar Fort, overnight Varanasi.
Day 04: Varanasi-Kushinagar (272Km, 05Hrs drive approx.)
Morning boat ride on Ganges, & drive to Kushinagar sightseeing of Mahaparinirvana Temple & Lord Buddha's cremation sites. Overnight Kushinagar.
Day 05: Kushinagar-Patna (253Km, 05Hrs drive approx.)
Arrive Patna, visit Buddhist Museum. Overnight at Patna.
Day 06: Patna-Bodhgaya (105Km, 03Hrs drive approx.)
Visit Nalanda Buddhist University & Rajgir. Overnight Bodhgaya.
Day 07: Bodhgaya:
After breakfast, visit Mahabodhi Temple, Afternoon at leisure. Overnight Bodhgaya.
Day 08: Bodhgaya-Delhi
(Overnight A/C train with sleeper)
Day 09: Delhi departure:
Arrive Delhi, assistance & transfer to Airport for departure.
